Student Life at Highview
Student life at Highview is active, vibrant, and inclusive. Our students learn both in and beyond the classroom, engaging in experiences that build confidence, friendships, and community spirit.
Daily Physical Activity (DPA)
- DPA is provided every day for all students.
- Educators regularly use our field and tarmac to engage students in outdoor movement, games, fitness, and cooperative play.
- DPA supports physical health, focus, and well‑being.
School Spirit and Community Events
- Pizza Days, School Spirit Wear Sales, Popcorn and Cookie Sales are just a few of the on-going fundraisers that help support school programming.
- School Dances offer fun, social opportunities for students to celebrate together.
Intermediate Transitions to Secondary
Highview is building a strong partnership with Sherwood Secondary School.
Intermediate students participate in:
- school visits
- orientation activities
- opportunities to explore secondary programs
This helps students feel confident and connected as they prepare for Grade 9.
School Council
Highview’s School Council plays an essential role in supporting school programs and student experiences. Through active fundraising and community involvement, they help provide:
- School events and enhancements
- Learning resources
- Support for extracurricular activities
- Community‑building opportunities
- Subsidies for school trips
- Technology purchases
